Nurse, accused in Rs 2-crore extortion case, claims complainant raped 100 women

A nurse arrested in Barmer over an alleged Rs 2 crore blackmail scheme has accused the complainant doctor of sexually assaulting more than 100 women. After questioning her and collecting digital evidence, police produced her before a court, which remanded her to judicial custody.DOCTOR ASSAULTED 100 WOMEN OVER THE YEARS, CLAIMED NURSEIn a video that was recorded outside the court has emerged in which the nurse makes a series of serious allegations against the doctor. Calling him ‘a number one rapist,’ she claimed the doctor had sexually assaulted more than 100 women over the years. She further alleged that he had abused several female patients who visited his hospital and claimed that some women had even approached the police in the past.According to the accused, those complaints never progressed because the doctor allegedly paid money to settle the matters. She also claimed that the extortion case against her was fabricated to suppress the allegations she had made against him. Extending her allegations to other hospital employees, the nurse claimed that two staff members assisted the doctor in procuring womenPolice have not confirmed any of these allegations, and there is no official indication so far that they have been substantiated.DOCTOR ALLEGED YEARS-LONG BLACKMAILINGThe case originated from a complaint filed by the doctor, who alleged that the accused had been working at his private hospital since December 2016, primarily on night shifts.According to the complaint, the nurse would enter his private room on the fourth floor of the hospital on the pretext of preparing tea. During one such visit, she allegedly transferred his personal photographs from his mobile phone to her own device without his knowledge.The doctor alleged that she later threatened to circulate those photographs on social media, implicate him in a false rape case and even have him killed unless he paid her money.Fearing damage to his personal reputation and the hospital's image, the doctor claimed he continued making payments over several years.DOCTOR ACCUSED NURSE OF EXTORTING MONEYThe complaint alleges that the nurse extorted nearly Rs 2 crore from the doctor in addition to receiving her salary.Police said approximately Rs 35 lakh was transferred online from the doctor's personal and hospital bank accounts. The doctor also alleged that the accused compelled him to sign blank cheques and blank stamp papers, which she allegedly kept in a bank locker.Investigators are now examining financial transactions and banking records to verify the allegations.WAS UNDER CONSTANT SURVEILLANCE, SAID DOCTORThe doctor also alleged that the nurse kept him under round-the-clock surveillance.According to his complaint, she monitored CCTV cameras installed inside the hospital to track his movements. He further claimed she provided him with a separate mobile phone and SIM card and insisted that it remain switched on at all times so she could monitor his location.Police said digital evidence, including emails, messages and data recovered from the accused's mobile phone, is being examined as part of the investigation.ACCUSED NOT COOPERATING, SAY POLICEBarmer City Kotwali police said the accused has been sent to judicial custody while investigators continue collecting evidence from multiple sources, including bank records and electronic devices.According to police, the accused has not been cooperating during questioning and has repeatedly denied the allegations against her while allegedly attempting to mislead investigators.Officials said every aspect of the complaint is being examined before further legal action is taken.NURSE CONTESTED ELECTIONS YEARS BACKInvestigators also found that the accused had contested the 2020 Barmer Panchayat Samiti election as a ward candidate on a political party ticket, losing by just 58 votes.Police further said she has been living separately from her husband for the past three years and had earlier filed a dowry harassment and assault case against him.The accused completed her nursing course in 2010 and joined the doctor's private hospital in 2016.The case has now taken two distinct legal dimensions. While police continue to investigate the doctor's allegations of extortion, blackmail and criminal intimidation, the nurse's allegations of repeated sexual assault against the doctor have also entered the public domain.
