NTR Collector launches ‘Operation Trishul’ to combat drug usage, crimes against women and road accidents

Lakshmisha launched ‘Operation Trishul’ aimed at checking crime against women, preventing road accidents and combating drug use in NTR district.Mr. Lakshmisha, along with NTR Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhara Babu, Deputy Commissioners of Police K.G.V. Saritha and G. Ramakrishna, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. A. Sravan Babu and other officials, lunched the programme here on Monday.“Following the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Operation Trishul has been launched, under which official of various departments will work together to check drug usage, road accidents and crimes against women,” Mr. Lakshmisha said.Officials of the Medical and Health, Police, Women Development and Child Welfare and other departments will take measures to check crimes under Operation Trishul, the Collector said.Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner said that NDPS cases had decreased by 81.4% and there was a drop in crime against women by 14.8% in NTR Commissionerate.Mr. Rajasekhara Babu urged the officials of various departments to join hands to put an end to drug usage, crimes against women and road accidents.Later, Mr. Lakshmisha and other officials released the posters on Operation Trishul.
