NTA shifts headquarters to Minto Road amid scrutiny over NEET, UGC exams

The National Testing Agency has moved its headquarters from Okhla to Minto Road in Delhi. The crucial timing matters as NTA is undergoing educational and examination reforms which require new infrastructure and better watch for nationwide handling of exams which the agency conducts.NTA, the agency responsible for conducting the biggest exams in India, including the one NEET, the JEE, has shifted its headquarters from Okhla in South Delhi to Minto Road in Central Delhi. The agency has directed candidates, students and other stakeholders to take note of the new address and use it for all future official correspondence.In a public notice issued on September 14, the NTA stated that its headquarters shall henceforth function from the fifth floor of the Government of India Press Building, Minto Road, New Delhi-110002.The agency has also requested all concerned persons and institutions to amend their records accordingly.NTA OVES FROM OKHLAUntil now, the NTA headquarters which was relatively smaller and located in an isolated space from where other agencies have their headquarters, on the First Floor, NSIC-MDBP Building, Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi-110020. With the latest notice, the Minto Road premises becomes the address for official correspondence with the agency.The NTA has made clear that correspondence intended for the headquarters should henceforth be directed to the new location. Candidates and other stakeholders who have retained the agency’s earlier address have been asked to make the requisite changes. The new office is likely to have all the advanced infrastructure required for the operations to be conducted for a nationwide reach.NTA CONDUCTS MAJOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONSThe National Testing Agency was established as an autonomous organisation under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. Its principal responsibility is the conduct of entrance examinations for admission to higher educational institutions and examinations relating to fellowships and eligibility.Among the examinations conducted by the agency are the JEE Main, NEET-UG, CUET-UG, UGC-NET and CSIR-NET.These examinations serve different purposes. JEE Main is conducted for admission to engineering programmes, while NEET-UG is the entrance examination for undergraduate medical education. CUET-UG is used for admissions to undergraduate programmes at participating universities.UGC-NET and CSIR-NET are conducted for eligibility relating to teaching, research and fellowships.The agency continues to conduct examinations and declare results throughout the year. In September, its examination calendar includes activities relating to examinations such as the UGC-NET June 2026 session.For candidates and other stakeholders, the present announcement concerns the headquarters and official correspondence address.
