The conduct got so bad that a sea of security and police ended up being called to the scene. Dozens of fans were roughly escorted out of the stadium in chaotic scenes in the stands. Video emerged of fans and security angrily shoving and pushing each other, with a few strikes thrown. Security are also seen appearing to hit fans with batons in the melee before things calm down. The supporters then trudged up the stairs to sarcastic jeers from the home crowd. They didn’t miss much from their side, who went on to lose the match 2-0. The 18-year-old, who became the youngest player to represent Egypt at the World Cup in June, came through Al Ahly’s academy, and made a handful of appearances for the senior team before being snapped up by Barca in February.
