Nostalgic social media platform dubbed ‘better than Facebook’ plotting huge comeback as fans rejoice ‘I’m all in’

Although an exact date was not yet announced, the new site would move away from algorithm-based entertainment. Rather, the brothers intend for the “modernised” Myspace to “feel different” from existing social media platforms, like Instagram and Facebook. Tom Anderson, Myspace’s co-founder, is not expected to be involved in the Vanderhooks’ upcoming relaunch and it is also unclear whether the new platform would return to its music-based origins. Founded in 2003, Myspace was launched as a social networking site and eventually was considered the most popular social media platform by 2008. At its peak, the site attracted roughly 115 million visitors per month, with more than 320,000 users registering a day. Although still accessible, the platform has not been widely used since the Vanderhooks bought the company in 2011 via their company Viant (then known as Specific Media).
