Norway Pledges $9.2 Billion to Ukraine for 2027

The Norwegian government announced on Sunday that it plans to provide Ukraine with an additional 85 billion Norwegian kroner ($9.2 billion) in financial support in 2027, maintaining the same level of assistance provided in 2026. According to the government’s statement, the primary focus of the 2027 package will remain on military support, which will notably include direct procurement of weaponry from Ukraine’s domestic defense industry. Continued military assistance and NATO initiatives The long-term funding proposal follows a series of substantial, targeted contributions from Oslo aimed at expediting immediate battlefield aid. In May, Norway pledged an additional 2.8 billion NOK ($302 million) to NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, a mechanism designed to coordinate and speed up the delivery of urgent military equipment by pooling allied resources.
