(Photo: PTI) SOUTH INDIA WELCOMES ANOTHER RAIN SPELLSouthern India will remain the main centre of weather activity on Saturday. The IMD has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, as well as Kerala and Mahe.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, reaching 30-40 kmph and gusting up to 50 kmph, are also likely at isolated places over these regions. The rainfall is linked to a trough in easterly winds extending from the southeast Arabian Sea, adjoining Kerala, towards south interior Karnataka. Such weather systems can draw moisture into the region and support cloud formation and rainfall. A pedestrian on a flooded road in Kochi, Kerala.
