Non-profit holds scrap drop off to help kids

The Cans for Wishes non-profit recently held a scrap drop-off event in Saegertown, celebrating their milestone of raising over $250,000 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Since its inception three years ago, the group has facilitated 53 wishes by collecting various recyclable materials like aluminum cans and scrap metal. Despite facing setbacks from COVID-19 that disrupted many of their fundraising activities, their community spirit and determination have helped them achieve remarkable success, demonstrating the power of grassroots initiatives in making a tangible difference for children's dreams.
