Muscat: Nominations for the second edition of the Shabiba Jawa’iz Basma (Social Impact) Awards 2026 will close on 20 September 2026, giving organisations, institutions, initiatives and individuals across Oman a final opportunity to showcase work that is creating meaningful and lasting impact in society.Organised by the leading Arabic media brand Shabiba and Muscat Media Group, the awards will culminate in a prestigious ceremony on 30 September 2026 at JW Marriott, Muscat. The initiative recognises outstanding contributions that improve the social, environmental and economic well-being of communities across the Sultanate. Following the success of the 2025 edition, Shabiba Jawa’iz Basma 2026 returns with over 20 award categories spanning a broad spectrum of social impact, sustainability, community development and responsible business.The award categories include Biodiversity Conservation Initiative, Environment Protection Initiative, Environmental Advocacy and Action Initiative and Clean Energy Initiative, recognising efforts towards environmental stewardship and a more sustainable future. Other categories recognise impact in community healthcare, education, support for specially-abled people, youth engagement and women empowerment, alongside initiatives focused on financial inclusion, SME development, community development and empowerment, public-private partnerships and public engagement. The awards also place strong emphasis on the role of businesses and institutions in creating wider economic and social value through categories covering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), In Country Value (ICV), Omanisation, skills development and social entrepreneurship. In addition, leadership categories will recognise organisations demonstrating excellence in sustainable business practices, ESG, ICV and CSR. The awards are designed not only to recognise achievement but also to encourage greater innovation and participation in social responsibility, sustainability and community development. They aim to promote collaboration between the private, public and nonprofit sectors, strengthen corporate and social accountability, and give greater visibility to organisations and individuals contributing to Oman’s sustainable development. The initiative also reflects the broader priorities of Oman Vision 2040, including sustainable environment and quality of life, inclusive growth, social development, economic diversification and stronger public-private partnerships.
