Noisy sex – including in a RETIREMENT HOME – sparks at least 127 complaints to councils

NOISY romps sparked at least 127 complaints to councils last year — including a racket caused by rowdy old goats in a retirement home. Neighbours moaned that loud lovemaking, including groaning, screaming, squeaky bedsprings and headboard banging, was disturbing their sleep. One person complained about sex noise coming from a neighbouring flat in an over-55s residential complex. The log at Sutton Council in South London says: “Resident is getting a lot of noise in her property . . . sexual noise that is coming from a neighbouring property at all hours of the day, which she states is very distressing. “She lives in over-55 accommodation so is unsure what is going on here!” Another complaint logged by the same council tells of “constant screaming and noise” from 1am to 6am. Three cases in Herefordshire included a couple’s open-air garden sex sessions. Walsall Council said police were called in a bid to calm tensions between neighbours after one incident. Most read in The Sun The figure of 127 complaints is from just one in five councils so is likely to be only a fraction of the true total. Offenders can be hit with £110 fixed penalty notices from local authorities and can potentially find themselves in court for breaching noise laws. Comment now
