Noida boy, 5, dies after father punches him in the gut during argument

A five-year-old boy died in Noida after his father allegedly punched him in the gut during an argument, police said. A case has been filed against the father on the boy’s mother’s complaint and the police detained him for questioning.The incident took place on Saturday, and police said they received information through a hotline that a man had allegedly punched his five-year-old son and injured him.According to police, when a team reached the spot, the child’s mother informed them that her husband, Vikas, a native of Shahjahanpur district, had punched their five-year-old son, Akash. The boy fell unconscious, following which his mother rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Based on the woman’s complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections and detained Vikas for questioning. The child’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Police said the accused denied during initial questioning that he had punched his son.
