Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan’s comments came amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with a chokepoint at the Strait of Hormuz, and after Indonesia Foreign Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa floated the idea of imposing a levy on ships passing through the Malacca Strait.
