Nintendo Switch Online’s Next 2 GameCube Games Officially Confirmed

There are people (myself included) who still play Wii U, and recall all the oddities and hidden gems that were released on the platform. While every system has its fans, the GameCube definitely falls into that camp, and there are people who still see it as one of the best consoles ever made. The reason for that isn't just due to its unique presentation, controller, and hardware design. It's also because of the incredibly strong library, which sports some incredible games, many of which have been ported to modern systems. However, thanks to a report, we know there are two more GameCube games coming to Nintendo Switch Online (via CBR). Custom image by Carrie Lambertsen In a strange course of events, Nintendo has not released two key GameCube games for the Nintendo Switch Online service: Pokémon Colosseum and Super Mario Sunshine. These aren't just random pulls, either. Nintendo has advertised these as coming onto the service before, and we're still waiting for them. Here's a quick list of what we have so far: F-Zero GX The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Soulcalibur II Super Mario Strikers Chibi-Robo! Luigi's Mansion Wario World Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness Sadly, Gale of Darkness was the last GameCube release for Switch Online, back in March 2026. Fans have been waiting patiently for the next announcement, which, knowing Nintendo, could come in a shadow drop on a random Nintendo Direct. Either way, these are officially confirmed, so they're coming at some point. While the idea of "preserving" these games is a bit strong (given that they're tied to a digital subscription and could disappear at any time), they could at least live on with a new generation of fans. The GameCube is often talked about as one of Nintendo's lesser financial runs, but it also inspired a generation of players with a ton of original works and oddball games like Eternal Darkness. Many of its titles have also been ported to other systems or updated in some way, including Metroid Prime. Even if you didn't love the GameCube growing up, there are still plenty of games that could be released for it on Switch and Switch 2. Odds are you'll find a hidden gem you'll love, assuming Pokémon Colosseum and Super Mario Sunshine aren't the last games coming to the platform.
