After this initial period ends, the 30-day free play period included in editions will begin, and after that time, a subscription will be required. A specific Nintendo Switch 2 subscription is required to play regardless of whether you are subscribed to FF14 for another platform. However, if you have game time for another platform, the Nintendo Switch 2 subscription will be available at half price. A subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is not required to play FF14. However, if you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you can register one additional aetheryte as a free teleport destination, though this is only available while playing the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
