Thanks to AI, the prices for components have been skyrocketing, leading to hardware price increases across almost every aspect of the tech industry. Even Nintendo has had to jack up the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 recently, with that new price set to come into effect this September. However, if you thought the price increases for Nintendo hardware were over, you're most likely very mistaken. According to a new report from Reuters, Samsung is increasing the cost of multiple wafers that it manufactures by up to 15 percent, thanks to the increased cost of the manufacturing process. Nintendo Switch 2s Are Probably Going To Get More Expensive Unfortunately, one of these wafers is the 8nm, which is used inside the Nintendo Switch 2. According to Reuters, the price of the 8nm is rising by 10 percent, meaning Nintendo will probably have to buy these components at a higher price next time they're in the market for some, and we all know that these kinds of price increases are usually passed onto the customer. That means we're more than likely going to see another price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future, and this isn't even taking the price increases of other components into account. If I was a betting man, I'd probably put money on the Nintendo Switch 2 costing around $549.99 at this time next year. Even if my prediction doesn't end up being correct, a price increase down the line is almost guaranteed with the way things have been going, and they don't look like they'll be improving any time soon.
