Nintendo's website is getting hammered under extreme demand, with stock going in and out of availability. Shortly after Nintendo announced renewed availability, the Nintendo Store showed the console as out of stock. The Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition officially launched on Thursday, Oct. 29, and Nintendo tried meeting demand with a replenished stock of the console. The limited edition console costs $519.99. Announced in September during a Nintendo Direct showcase, the Legend of Zelda-themed Switch 2 hardware features a black, gold, and green color scheme that is reminiscent of franchise protagonist Link and his Triforce of Courage. Pre-orders for the console went live in early September and almost immediately sold out. Nintendo also has Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition versions of the Pro Controller, which costs $99.99 — or $10 more than a typical Pro Controller — but that controller is currently showing as sold out.
