Nintendo Issues Official Statement On Switch 2 'Zelda' Console Pre-Orders

Major retailers like Amazon, Target, and Best Buy all say they are sold out of the Triforce-themed console — and if they aren't, restocks get wiped away quickly. Surprisingly, Nintendo itself may have the best advice on how to score a Zelda Switch 2. If you visit the official Nintendo page for the 40th anniversary Zelda Switch 2 console, you may see a banner at the top of the page. It reads, "The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary collection is currently sold out. We will announce when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app." The page also offers a "Find Retailers" button, though the feature currently says that the product is unavailable online. Nintendo does, however, list a number of GameStop locations near you. While the video game retailer is not taking pre-orders online, you may be able to score the coveted Switch 2 by visiting a nearby location and placing a pre-order in person. You can download the Nintendo Store app here. Notably, the app allows you to favorite products of interest — and if you sign in to your Nintendo account and turn on notifications, it'll tell you when they're back in stock. The console and its accessories should all be on the app's front page when you first load the app. Otherwise, the foil cover version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is still available for pre-order via Nintendo. The base Pro Controller and the version with a kickstand are out of stock, as are the 40th anniversary carrying case and screen protector. As of early Sept. 10, Best Buy still notes that the console is coming soon. Amazon and Target are both out of pre-orders. Based on Nintendo's wording, it seems likely that all of these retailers will see their stock replenished at some point. If you have deep pockets, eBay is always an option as well.
