Nintendo Direct September 2026: The biggest news and trailers

It’s almost time for part two of Nintendo’s double feature this week.On Tuesday, the company hosted a showcase all about the Legend of Zelda franchise, including footage and a November 5th release date for the Switch 2 Ocarina of Time remake. On Wednesday, the company will be airing its next Nintendo Direct, which will spotlight Switch 2 games “launching this winter” in an approximately 45-minute presentation. Right after the Direct, Nintendo will also air a Treehouse Live stream that’s set to run for about 110 minutes.Now that Nintendo’s release schedule is set through November — its other big upcoming releases include Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on September 17th and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort on October 22nd — Wednesday’s showcase could be the first meaningful look at Nintendo’s next big batch of games. Skitty in particular is the perfect candidate for playing dress-up.Star Fox’s adventures.If you ever wondered what Fox McCloud gets up to outside of his ship, well, that’s what the GameCube classic Star Fox Adventures is for. The game is coming to the Switch 2 for NSO subscribers later today, while a free update is also coming to the new Star Fox remake later this month.More Hyrule Warriors.Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity — Definitive Edition is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 25th, 2027. It includes improved frame rates and more enemies onscreen at a time as well as a new harder difficulty mode.Monster Hunter Wilds launches on Switch 2 in December.December 4th, 2026, to be specific. The upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion will also come to Switch 2 sometime in 2027.It’s almost Nintendo time.The September 2026 Nintendo Direct kicks off at 10AM ET, and you can watch it on YouTube.
