Nintendo Confirms Ocarina Of Time Remake Is Still Launching In 2026

However, its biggest crown jewel is undoubtedly The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, which is surprisingly still yet to get an official release date announcement. With now less than half of the year to go, it makes sense that people are starting to get a bit antsy, fearing a possible delay into 2027, especially with how busy September is and the giant that is GTA 6 still to come. Thankfully, Nintendo's most recent earnings report has shut down those concerns for now (thanks Vice). Nintendo Still Lists Ocarina Of Time As A 2026 Game In the report, Nintendo lists all the first-party titles that have been officially announced so far, and exactly when they're launching. For example, it has both Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave and Switch Sports Resort down as September 17 and October 22 respectively. While we don't have a specific date for the Ocarina of Time Remake, this report does still have it down as a game that will be launching in 2026, which should calm any fears of a delay for now. It's unlikely that Nintendo would label the game as launching in 2026 to investors if it wasn't confident that it would meet its original release window. As for exactly when it will launch, I guess we'll have to wait for another Nintendo Direct to find out. Fans seem to be convinced that it could be going toe-to-toe with GTA 6 in November, as a couple of Amiibo are set to launch during that month (and Amiibo usually launch alongside first-party Nintendo games), but that's just pure speculation. In any case, with Ocarina of Time still set for a 2026 release, Fire Emblem and a new Switch Sports on the horizon, and already successful titles like Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Pokopia having launched, it seems like 2026 is shaping up to have been an actually pretty incredible year for Nintendo fans. With a new Xenoblade and generation of Pokemon games coming next year, it may be time to finally jump on board the Switch 2 train if you haven't already.
