We won't have to wait long to find out what the company has in store, as the new Indie World Showcase is being held tomorrow, Oct. 28. Unlike some of the bigger Directs we've seen recently, this will be a smaller affair. That doesn't mean you should miss it, however, as there are still plenty of potential surprises in store. Thanks to Nintendo's official announcement, we know the latest Indie World Showcase will be roughly 15 minutes long. The showcase will be held at 7:00 a.m. PDT. You can watch it on Nintendo's YouTube channel. The company said that it will focus on "new announcements and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch." While we've had a number of big Directs this year, the last Indie World Showcase was held back in March. That event had a number of exciting indies for Switch and Switch 2 owners, such as this year's amazing Denshattack! and the shadow drop of roguelite puzzler Blue Prince on Switch 2. What to expect at the Oct. 28 Nintendo Indie World Showcase Image: Team Cherry via Polygon Since this is an indie-focused showcase, announcements will be from Nintendo's third-party partners. That means you shouldn't expect to see the likes of Zelda, Mario, or Samus, unless they appear in a project like Cadence of Hyrule. Instead, get ready to be introduced to several smaller titles coming in the next few months that are still worth your time alongside juggernauts like the Ocarina of Time remake. While predicting what will be announced at an Indie World Showcase is a little harder than with a Direct, there is one thing we can all hope for. We know Team Cherry is working on an expansion to last year's game, Hollow Knight: Silksong, called Sea of Sorrow. It has been a while since the developer last shared information, but it was initially announced with a 2026 release date. It wouldn't be impossible for Team Cherry to shadow drop it, or at least reveal the expansion's actual release date. That is, of course, unless it is delayed.
