It works with both K-Cup pods and coffee grounds, plus it has a built-in frother for lattes, cappuccinos and other coffeehouse-style drinks.Prices vary by color and size, with select standard models starting at $79 at the time of publication. Other standard colors are currently $99, down from a $129.99 list price, while the larger XL models cost more. It has four brew styles: Classic, Rich, Over Ice and Specialty. Those who prefer grounds can choose from seven brew sizes ranging from 6 ounces to a 24-ounce travel mug, while K-Cup users can brew 6-, 8-, 10- or 12-ounce servings. The Specialty setting brews a concentrated coffee designed for drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos and macchiatos. A fold-away frother on the side can froth hot or cold milk and can be removed for cleaning. The machine also has a removable 56-ounce water reservoir, permanent filter, pod adapter and adjustable cup tray. How does the Ninja coffee maker’s built-in frother work?The built-in frother folds out from the side of the machine and can froth either hot or cold milk and milk alternatives. That means it can be used for both hot drinks and iced lattes without requiring a separate milk frother.One thing worth knowing is that the frother itself does not heat the milk, so milk needs to be heated separately when making a hot drink. When it isn’t being used, the frother folds back against the machine to save counter space. Is the Ninja coffee maker’s frother easy to clean?The frother is removable, which makes cleanup relatively simple after making a latte or other milk-based drink. Ninja specifically lists the removable design as one of the machine’s features for easier cleaning.
