Nigel Farage jokes he might deport Meghan Markle if he becomes PM as he accuses Duchess of 'using her wiles' on 'weak' Harry and hits out at their 'disgraceful behaviour'

Nigel Farage has joked that he might try to deport Meghan Markle if he becomes prime minister, saying she is 'using her wiles' on her 'weak' husband Prince Harry. The Reform UK leader lambasted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's behaviour as an 'absolute disgrace' and accused Harry of having made a 'bad life choice'.He added yesterday that he now 'felt sorry' for the duke, claiming he had suffered a rapid decline after previously being 'the most popular royal for 100 years'.Mr Farage spoke out against the couple following their return to Britain in August, six years after they stepped down as senior working royals and moved to the US.Appearing on US political commentator Benny Johnson's podcast, Mr Farage said: 'The behaviour of Meghan, of Harry, has been an absolute disgrace. And now they're back in the UK living here for who knows how long and somehow I can't help it.'I sort of almost now begin to feel a bit sorry for Harry, because it's the classic tale of the weak man and the strong woman who uses her wiles and leads him. Shakespeare was on this, the Bible was on this, there's nothing new in this, it's a classic tale.'Harry, his service in Afghanistan, his cheekiness, his loving for a party, lots of pretty girlfriends, he was the most popular royal for 100 years, people loved him.'There he is now, with Meghan. I think he's made a bad life choice, but I can't wish him ill, because we all get things wrong from time to time. I hope he sorts it out.' Reform UK leader Nigel Farage appears on US political commentator Benny Johnson's podcastPrince Harry and Meghan Markle at a David Foster Foundation event in Canada on August 7Mr Johnson then left Mr Farage in fits of laughter, as he replied: 'I'm really hope that you do not deport… please, I'm asking you as a friend, do you deport Meghan Markle back to America.'This is one of the greatest things England has done since giving us our independence, we really appreciate all of this. Our independence from Meghan Markle is actually wonderful.'And Mr Farage joked: 'You might get her back. You might get her back if I'm in charge.'Mr Johnson also made reference to American TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres, who bought a new home with wife Portia de Rossi in Montecito in February, just over a year after they relocated to the Cotswolds in November 2024.The couple are now thought to be splitting their time between the two properties.Mr Johnson said: 'Nigel, I beg of you! You know, you've already sent back Ellen DeGeneres, we thought you'd take her forever.'And Rosie (American comedian Rosie O'Donnell), it seems like she's coming back, I believe she's in Ireland though, so it's a little less of your problem.'You've already shipped back Ellen DeGeneres from the Cotswolds, it's too bad, it's a shame.' Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi now split their time between Montecito and the UK - and Mr Farage said: 'You gave us woke, you're getting Ellen back alright, it's a pretty fair trade' Mr Farage then told the presenter: 'Listen Benny, hey, hang on - you gave us woke, you're getting Ellen back alright, it's a pretty fair trade.'Back in February 2025, Mr Farage's long-standing political ally Donald Trump ruled out trying to deport Harry from America after it was alleged that drug use referenced in his memoir could have disqualified the duke from a US visa. The US President said at the time: 'I'll leave him alone', adding: 'He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible.'Meghan previously labelled Mr Trump 'divisive' and a 'misogynist', but neither she nor Harry have ever made a public statement about Mr Farage. But Mr Farage has criticised the Sussexes on several occasions, including in 2022 when he accused them of using their Netflix documentary to suggest that Brexit-era politics contributed to racism directed at Meghan, calling their actions 'despicable'.Mr Farage has also previously described Meghan as 'self-serving' and accused her of 'wrecking the Royal Family'.The Sussexes stepped down as working royals in 2020 for personal and financial reasons but have not explained why they unexpectedly relocated to the UK from California in August.
