Nicky Henderson’s former Supreme Novices’ Hurdle favourite leaves yard in bid to be revitalised

The subject of whispers from Seven Barrows about his talent before debut, Jeriko Du Reponet won his first four races under rules. He was made 8-1 fav for the Supreme after his Newbury bow in December 2023 but was ultimately pulled up having been sent off 11-1 on the big day. At Sandown in November 2024 he was pulled up at 8-11 on chase debut but, switched back to hurdles, finished second in that season’s Pertemps at Cheltenham Festival. He then turned the tide on his Cheltenham conqueror Doddiethegreat with a brilliant Listed handicap hurdle win at Punchestown Festival a few weeks later under James Bowen. That turned out to be the final win for Jeriko Du Reponet under Henderson, who admitted the horse had left him scratching his head a few times. Jeriko Du Reponet was pulled up when most recently seen in a Grade 3 handicap hurdle at last April’s Grand National Festival. According to his page on the official BHA website, the horse, now seven, joined Haslam around two weeks ago. Most read in Horse Racing Haslam has managed to turn around the fortunes of many McManus horses seemingly on the wane. And they often go in at decent prices. Kientzheim, who was once well fancied for the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, would be a prime example of that. Another who used to be trained by Henderson, the mare was sent to Haslam’s Middleham yard with her form on the slide. After almost 200 days off the track she went onto win on just her second start for the trainer, scooting home at Musselburgh in November 2025 at 14-1.
