Published September 8, 2026 06:44 PM The 49ers released their first practice report of 2026. The team, which has been in Australia for the past five days, lists nine players as limited during Tuesday’s practice. Defensive end Nick Bosa (knee) and tight end George Kittle (Achilles) are among that group.49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris said a day earlier that Bosa will play, but it is unclear how much Bosa will play. Bosa tore the ACL in his right knee in a Sept. 21 game against the Cardinals and underwent surgery Sept. 26. As he was coming back this summer, Bosa experienced soreness and tendinitis, and the 49ers backed him down until Sept. 2 when he returned to practice.Kittle’s status sounds a little more up in the air, with offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak offering only Kittle is in “good shape” to play. Kittle tore his right Achilles in a Jan. 11 playoff game against the Eagles. He underwent surgery three days later, with Rams team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache repairing Kittle’s Achilles.Like Bosa, if Kittle plays, he likely is on a snap count.Defensive tackle Alfred Collins (knee), linebacker Luke Gifford (hamstring), linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), defensive tackle Gracen Halton (ankle), defensive end Romello Height (ankle) and fullback Kyle Juszczyk (finger) also were limited.Defensive tackle James Thompson (hamstring) did not practice, and cornerback Upton Stout (Achilles) was a full participant.
