News host loses it after being asked if he could ‘eat beaver’ live on TV

That’s what happened on Fox 2’s Good Day Detroit, and he couldn’t contain his laughter. Co-host Deena Centofanti was talking about the survival show, Alone, which requires people to fend for themselves in tough, wild environments, when she got onto the topic of food. She explained: ‘If you can provide yourself with food, and again, now they’re ice fishing because everything is frozen, and you’re looking for fat in the beaver – the beaver is the most sought after.’ Meteorologist Derek Kevra, who is also at the table, agrees with Deena while sporting a knowing smirk, and Ryan can barely contain his chuckles. It gets harder for the 47-year-old to stay composed as Deena asks him: ‘Ryan do you think you could eat beaver?’ They’re all giggling by the end (Picture: @FOX2Detroit) As he seemingly loses it at the double entendre, his colleague continues: ‘There’s fat, and then it’s meat.’ In season nine of the show, contestant Benji Hill found and ate dead beaver, along with some grouse he had killed – yum! Following this, he became ill and had to tap out of the competition. This is a fact that Derek reminds them of, but Ryan is too far gone to engage in any more conversation about the topic. Trying to move the conversation on, Deena asks: ‘What about a moose?’ After pulling himself together, he manages to speak and says: ‘I don’t know anything about this show but you’re really funny. You are a really funny gal.’ The camera hones in on Ryan as he holds his head in his hands (Picture: @FOX2Detroit) It’s clear Ryan didn’t find the exchange too scarring, as he posted the clip on X, writing: ‘I had no idea eating beaver was such a big part of the show “Alone” 🦫🤣.’ One user, @themookbettor, congratulated Ryan for how he conducted himself: ‘I know you had a million one-liners running through your mind, your overall composure was amazing.. Bravo sir.’ Another, @AltomonteEvile2, said: ‘That woman knew EXACTLY what she was doing 🤣 Ryan, you are a better man than I am. My head would have exploded.’ While Dave Addison called it the ‘funniest clip in a long time’.
