Newcomer Lucy spirals in Coronation Street as terrified Tim fears her wrath

Newcomer Lucy is a handful (Picture: ITV) Foster parents Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) recently welcomed the daughter of a murderer into their home in Coronation Street. They knew she would be troubled but in the space of just two days, they’ve reached the conclusion that they’re incredibly out of their depth. Earlier this week, Tim headed to his cousin Richie’s (Nathan Sussex) home. Prior to this, he had been thrown out of the house by wife Rachel. Richie had plans to go to Liverpool, but Tim urged him to go back home to try and sort things out with his partner. Tim only went to Richie’s because he had found his cousin’s wallet down the sofa. When Richie opened the door, Tim was horrified to see that his shirt was covered in blood. As he stepped inside, Tim discovered Rachel’s dead body. Feeling awful, Tim organised for Lucy to move in with him, Sally, and the Michaelis siblings. Social worker Ruth warned Sally and Tim that Lucy was in a very vulnerable place. When she arrived, the couple gently welcomed her into the family. Very quickly, Sally and Tim realised that it was going to take them a long time to connect with Lucy. Over dinner, they tried to calmly explain what would happen to Richie, but Lucy screamed in Tim’s face, stating that she knows he doesn’t really care about her. Everything has changed in a very short space of time (Picture: ITV) Tim discovered that Richie had killed his wife (Picture: ITV) The teen continued to cause challenges for Sally and Tim in today’s episode. After snapping at the couple again over Rachel’s death, Lucy rushed off outside and got into an argument with Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft Gardner). Sally and Tim weren’t just going to give up on Lucy, though. Back at home, as they tried to support her, Lucy pondered over Richie and Rachel’s final moments together. She couldn’t understand why her dad went back home when he said that he would stay elsewhere. Lucy wondered if Tim knew anything about Richie’s decision to return to the house, but he said no. Lucy headed upstairs, and Sally wondered why Tim would lie. This new face clearly has a lot going on in her mind. Tim thought that hiding the truth from Lucy was the right thing to do, but Sally believes that she will spiral even further if she learns that Tim hasn’t been honest with her.
