NEWCASTLE are braced for a mass exodus this summer after Eddie Howe’s exit from St James’ Park. Howe ended his five-year spell on Thursday after deciding to take a break from coaching. Howe was convinced the club would sell Guimaraes, according to the Telegraph, which was “the final straw”. And the Brazil midfielder is just one of FIVE stars who join Howe in walking away. The 28-year-old is a major transfer target for the Gunners, who were readying a £70million bid last week. Newcastle are adamant that their skipper isn’t for sale, but the exit of Howe could weaken their position. Joelinton is another player who could depart, a countryman and good friend of Guimaraes. The 29-year-old has a close relationship with Howe, who turned him from a struggling striker into a powerhouse midfielder. There are also question marks over left-back Lewis Hall, who has admirers at Manchester United. Hall, 21, is seen by United chiefs as a potential long-term replacement for Luke Shaw, who is out of contract next year. SunSport revealed last month that Hall is open to the move after a frustrating campaign saw him played out of position and then miss out on the England squad. However, the club deny there had been a falling out between Hall and Howe. Full-back Tino Livramento is another player who has been linked away from the club of late. Arsenal were keeping tabs on the player in January while Man City were also thought to be keen on a £60m move. And some Newcastle fans might be concerned about the prospect of losing academy talent and local lad Lewis Miley.
