New TrojPix Attack Leaks Data From Air-Gapped Systems via Video Cable Emissions

Researchers from Shandong University have discovered a novel method called TrojPix that enables data extraction from computers isolated from all networks, known as air-gapped systems. By subtly modifying on-screen pixels, TrojPix sends out a faint radio signal through the video cable, which a nearby receiver can decode. This attack hinges on malware already being present on the target machine. The implications are significant as it shows a new vulnerability in supposedly secure, isolated systems, raising concerns about the true safety of sensitive data.
