Zoe met a tragic end after sustaining a head wound, dying in the small hours of the morning in bed at the Vic. Her sudden passing sent shockwaves through Albert Square, with the Slater clan consumed with grief in the aftermath. Max, meanwhile, was left reeling to learn of Zoe’s demise, confiding in Oscar (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) that he feels guilty as he saw Zoe shortly before her death and, mistakenly presuming she was drunk, he did nothing to help. While the aftermath of his confession will continue in the next episode of the BBC One soap – and there are also big developments in store elsewhere, including for Penny (Kitty Castledine), who gives birth in upcoming scenes. She is taken to the hospital while Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) attempt to sober Vinny up and get him to the hospital in time for the birth. Their efforts prove successful and Vinny arrives in time for he and Penny to welcome a baby son. Later, Penny confides in Lauren that she’ll keep shtum about the fact that Vinny might not be the dead – but little do they know that someone has overheard!
