Bethany’s chance of a new romance could all come crashing down (Picture: ITV) Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) finally gets the chance to move on with a new man in Coronation Street next week, but with Harry struggling to cope with everything that’s happened, her fresh start could be over before it’s even begun. It’s been a difficult time for the Platt family since Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was sent to prison, and while Bethany is doing everything she can to hold things together on the outside, she’s also trying to make sure Harry is supported through the upheaval. As next week’s episodes get underway, things go from bad to worse for Sarah behind bars. While adjusting to life in prison, Sarah catches the eye of a tough-looking inmate, who shoots her a menacing glare. It’s enough to leave Sarah feeling seriously unnerved, but the worst is still to come. When Bethany visits Sarah, she’s horrified to discover she’s sporting a badly bruised face. Sarah, however, plays down the injuries, insisting everything is fine despite it being clear she’s had a frightening experience inside. Thankfully, Sarah hasn’t had to face prison life completely alone. She has struck up an unlikely friendship with fellow inmate Kacey, who quickly becomes someone Sarah feels she can trust. Opening up to Kacey, Sarah admits she’s desperately worried about Harry and is incredibly grateful that her ex-partner, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), has stepped in to help look after him while she’s behind bars. Harry has been struggling since Sarah’s arrest (Picture: ITV) But the conversation takes an unexpected turn when Kacey casually reveals it’s common knowledge around the prison that Sarah’s ex is a police officer. Sarah is stunned by the revelation, leaving her wondering how personal details about her life have spread so quickly behind bars. Later, Kacey finds Sarah hiding away in her cell after another inmate threatens her. Keen to reassure her, Kacey promises she’ll make sure nobody lays a finger on her. When Bethany later spots Kacey watching during another prison visit, Sarah explains that her new friend has been a real lifeline since arriving behind bars. Back on the cobbles, Bethany is encouraged to focus on herself for a change as she prepares for a date with Roman. With Kit agreeing to stay at the flat and keep an eye on Harry, it seems like Bethany might finally get the opportunity to enjoy an evening away from all the stress. Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) even offers to take Harry to Little Big Shotz to make things easier, leaving Bethany free to head out on her date without worrying about childcare. Can Kit contain Harry’s meltdown without disturbing Bethany’s date? (Picture: ITV) But any hopes of a smooth evening are quickly dashed. When Kit tells Harry that he won’t be able to look after him next week either because he’s arranged for him to spend the week at Little Big Shotz, Harry completely loses his temper. Furious and clearly overwhelmed by everything that’s happening in his life, Harry throws his dinner onto the floor in an emotional outburst. With Bethany out enjoying her date with Roman, Kit is left to deal with the fallout alone. It’s clear Harry is struggling with his mum’s imprisonment and all the changes that have come with it, but can Kit calm him down before things spiral even further?
