Co-created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, the thriller serves as a spinoff of Alan Ritchson's series focused on Maria Sten's eponymous former U.S. Army Master Sergeant and Reacher squad member, now working as a private investigator in Chicago. Debuting the same day as Reacher season 4's finale, Neagley continued the franchise's critical success streak, and that's not the only level of success it's enjoyed. As revealed by Prime Video, Neagley has officially broken multiple Prime Video records within two weeks of its September 16 premiere. The Reacher spinoff is now sitting in the No. 4 spot on the streamer's most-viewed original series debut, albeit no specifics were given as to what shows it overtook. Additionally, the series is now ranking in the Top 10 of most-viewed seasons of any original series in Prime Video's history, all of which has secured Neagley a season 2 renewal. Unlike Netflix, Prime Video is generally a little more restrictive in sharing precise data regarding their library, thus making it a welcome surprise and show of confidence on their part in Neagley's success. With its No. 4 debut, it does put the Reacher spinoff just behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Fallout and Off Campus on the streamer's most-viewed original series debut chart, with the latter show landing the No. 3 position in its May 2026 premiere. What's also currently unclear is where Neagley season 1 is situated in comparison to Reacher on both the most-viewed original series debut and most-viewed seasons charts for Prime Video. Considering the viral popularity of Ritchson's show, it does seem likely that multiple seasons are on the latter list, and thus gave Sten's spinoff a fight to make its way onto the chart. However, with Prime Video also not sharing specifics on the window of time it measures for its most-viewed charts, there's a question as to whether it will climb even higher. Now that Neagley season 2 is a bona fide hit for the streamer and has a second season on the way, it will be interesting to see whether this will inspire any extra push for more content surrounding the character. Lee Child already has two Neagley-focused novels on the way, the first of which, Zero Margin, was co-written by fellow acclaimed author Yasmin Angoe and is set for a March 2027 publication. With fellow Prime Video star Titus Welliver frequently lending his voice to Bosch audiobooks and Michael Connelly audio productions, Amazon may be keen to have Sten team with Child for the audiobook narration of Zero Margin.
