Sign in to your ScreenRant account The PlayStation 6 isn't coming just yet, but Sony hasn't held back from releasing new hardware in the meantime. While the cost of certain components is driving up the price of memory-intensive systems to terrifying degrees, other products aren't as directly affected, making it easier to keep the launches coming at reasonably palatable price points. One of the latest reveals was a DualSense controller with Gran Turismo branding, tying into one of PlayStation's most acclaimed long-running franchises. While the controller won't be out for a while yet, today is a big day for those interested in celebrating the franchise with a new purchase. As revealed in the original post on the official PlayStation Blog, the Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller is officially available for pre-order as of today, October 22. On the official PlayStation store, the controller can be pre-ordered for $84.00, with a release date set for December 10. Rather than plastering the image of a car or a racetrack onto the controller, PlayStation has opted to invoke textures and graphics seen on racecars. The front plate features an imitation carbon fiber look, racing stripes bisect the touchpad, and logos appear on the wings of the controller. The blog post claims that the controller is "available in limited quantities," and the store page notes that the controller is limited to one purchase per order on account of "high demand." That being said, there's no specific word on how many units were manufactured, so the risk of the controller actually selling out any time soon is difficult to determine. PlayStation has been going all-in on variant controllers this year, adding a fair few licensed tie-ins to the standard array of colors. DualSense controllers based on 007 First Light, Marvel's Wolverine, and Grand Theft Auto 6 are all currently available on the website, each featuring the same $84 price point. In the case of Marvel's Wolverine and Grand Theft Auto 6, the exclusive patterns also come in two different color variants. The most surprising offering yet is the LISA DualSense controller, based on PlayStation's collaboration with the K-pop singer LISA of the girl group Blackpink. That one will beat the GTA 6 and Gran Turismo controllers to the finish line, with a launch date set for October 30. The GTA 6 and LISA controllers both feature the same note about high demand on the official PlayStation store, and the white version of the GTA 6 controller is currently unavailable. Gran Turismo's new controller comes on the heels of Gran Turismo 7's "Spec IV" update, which added new cars and more for free. A second part of the update will arrive in December, so fans who purchase the controller should be able to take some fresh additions for a spin once it arrives. For those who aren't Gran Turismo acolytes, it's still a nice-looking PlayStation controller, but probably not worth spending $84 on without a more specific reason to invest.
