New PlayStation Hardware Officially Announced Alongside Pre-Order Details

Happily, all the major manufacturers have been obliging with some cool designs, and more of those are emerging all the time. Xbox have arguably been leading the way on that front, with their 25th anniversary range bringing back the green seethrough plastic of old across a ton of different items. They also have upcoming hardware releases for Gears of War and other games, while PlayStation has lagged behind a little in recent months. That's all about to change though, and the latest hardware drop is almost certainly going to be one that interests a lot of players. Sony As first reported by PushSquare, Sony and Rockstar Games have revealed two limited-edition PS5 controllers that are releasing to celebrate the launch of GTA VI. They feature palm tree logo designs on the touchpad, and the neon colourations the game has been using around the thumbsticks. They look pretty cool, and they're available in both black and white, and Sony shared a lengthy statement explaining exactly what went into their design: "At today’s State of Play, we shared a first look at two new limited edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI which capture that unmistakable Vice City energy. The black and white limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers each capture the essence of Vice City, from bright days along the coast to vibrant city nights. "Both editions feature a shimmering, color-shifting finish that brings together the hues of a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon lights. They both also feature custom palm tree details molded directly into the controller, adding a unique tactile element alongside official Grand Theft Auto VI branding." Starting on September 10 at 7.00am PT/10:00am ET in the U.S, and 10:00am local time in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, players will be able to pre-order DualSense Wireless Controller (stock permitting). The recommended retail price for the new PlayStation controllers clocks in at $84.99 USD/ ¥12,480 (including tax) / €84.99/ £74.99 depending on where you are in the world, and they will be available to purchase directly from the manufacturer website, or via participating retailers, though Sony is yet to share which retailers will be included in which country.
