There was one on June 30 celebrating Splatoon Raiders, and a fully-fledged Direct on June 9, showcasing a ton of Switch games, including the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Now, we have another Direct to look forward to. Taking place on August 4, we're getting yet another specialized Direct, and this one is somewhat of a surprise. Nintendo has been using the Direct system to promote individual games for years, and we're getting another first-party debut. Over on X, Nintendo made their plans known, so mark your calendars for this week. Live on August 4 at 10AM ET, Nintendo will unveil a Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Direct to the world. Set to arrive on September 17 exclusively on Switch 2, this is the staggering eighteenth game in the Fire Emblem series, three years after the launch of Fire Emblem Engage. Here's all the information Nintendo has given us so far: "The Heroic Games are approaching! Tune in on Aug 4 at 7am PT for the Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Direct, featuring roughly 20 minutes of new information about the game." That's a pretty breezy Direct if I've ever seen one. The Splatoon Raiders Direct lasted the same amount of time (roughly 18 minutes), so expect lots of information here. Things we can expect to see include limited-edition hardware (potentially including Joy-Con 2), amiibo announcements, and new systems that are making their way into Fortune's Weave. Those have all typically been present in past Fire Emblem Directs or overview videos. You'll be able to find a direct YouTube link here: Nintendo YouTube Channel This Direct couldn't be coming at a better time, as we don't have a ton of info on Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. While Nintendo is typically coy about many elements of Fire Emblem, especially the inner workings of the story, it is roughly a month and a half away, so now is the time to start getting people excited about it. All we really know is that it's going to be taking place in the Dagsion Empire, will have four playable heroes, and is centered around the "Heroic Games." The four-hero angle is one of the most intriguing elements of Fortune's Weave, since Nintendo is teasing four unique playthroughs this time around, similar to the Kingdom-based approach of Three Houses. We also know that Sothis, one of the key characters from Three Houses, will be involved this time. If you want to learn more, tune into the Nintendo Direct.
