New LEGO Harry Potter Game Officially Releasing October 2026

The LEGO games really have become a staple part of the industry as a whole, offering a lighter, more comedic take on some of the biggest and best franchises in history. Star Wars remains probably the most notable example of this, but we've also had excellent translations of The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter along the way that are well worth playing if you're a fan. The latter successfully adapts all seven of the titular boy wizard's years at school into a blocky format, and the presence of magic really allows the developer to get creative with the game's puzzles, in much the same way as they do with the Force. Now, LEGO Harry Potter is about to return in a big way, and it's hard to believe that its taken this long to make the jump. Over on Twitter/X, Warner Bros. Games confirmed that The LEGO Harry Potter Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. This brings LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 remastered together in one convenient package for the handheld console. In confirming more about the release in an official statement, WBG stated the following: "Developed by TT Games, published by Warner Bros. Games and ported for Nintendo Switch 2 by Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, LEGO Harry Potter Collection takes players on a humorous and fantastical journey spanning all eight Harry Potter films. Along the way, players will uncover mysteries, master spells, brew potions, and confront Lord Voldemort in an epic battle between good and evil. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the collection will be available for both physical and digital, with the Physical Edition including both games on one key card." A physical release is always nice to hear about, though it does seem as though there aren't too many upgrades on the Nintendo Switch 1 version beyond it being a relatively simple re-release. That said, the Collection does include "all previously released DLC packs, including a Character Pack featuring Godric Gryffindor, Harry (Yule Ball), Helga Hufflepuff, Lockhart (Straightjacket), Luna (Lion Head), Peeves, Hermione (Pink Dress), Ron Weasley (Ghoul), Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin, as well as a Spell Pack featuring Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors, and Tentaclifors." As mentioned earlier, you won't have too long to wait to give it a go for yourself, with The LEGO Harry Potter Collection set to drop on October 16. Beyond that, the next LEGO game sees players building cities once again, as Paradox Interactive turn their Skylines formula to a whole new IP.
