Officials also revealed more about the frantic emergency response after a 911 call was made at around 1:51 pm Sunday. First responders and paramedics arrived to find Panettiere in cardiac arrest, according to the coroner’s statement. EMS crews immediately began advanced cardiac life support, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 pm. Most read in Entertainment People reported that a friend alerted authorities after finding the actress unresponsive, while police said an acquaintance made the 911 call. Dispatch audio obtained by the outlet captured officials referring to an “overdose” as well as cardiac arrest during the emergency response. However, authorities have not determined that an overdose caused Panettiere’s death, and the coroner’s findings remain pending. Greenville Police previously said their preliminary investigation had uncovered no evidence of foul play or suspicious circumstances. Panettiere’s death was confirmed Sunday night by her representative in a statement issued on behalf of her father, Skip Panettiere. TMZ later reported that Narcan was found inside the apartment where Panettiere died, with the device used to administer it discovered on a mattress. The overdose-reversal drug is used to counter the effects of opioids, but it is unclear who it was administered to. TMZ reported that two ambulances were dispatched to the apartment, raising the possibility that more than one person had been in medical distress. The actress had spoken publicly about her battles with alcohol and opioid addiction as well as postpartum depression and recovery. Her family described the actress as an “incredible light and a force of nature” and asked for privacy as they grieve. Panettiere shot to fame as cheerleader Claire Bennet in NBC’s Heroes before starring as country singer Juliette Barnes in Nashville. She also appeared in Remember the Titans, Scream 4 and Scream VI, and released her memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning earlier this year.
