While the original trilogy told a fairly complete story, Kratos eventually returned many years later to take on Norse mythology, and that journey has since grown exponentially in scope. After all, these new God of War games aren't just action titles, they also sport RPG elements, lending themselves to longer experiences, to the chagrin of some fans who prefer the punchy action-centric formula of the classic games. But beyond the TV show, there's more coming to the world of God of War. Thanks to a recent PlayStation update, we know more about a God of War collectionset to arrive early next year. Recently, Sony updated the official blog post for God of War Laufey, explaining in more detail what the Collector's Box includes. The big-picture updates include specifications for the light-up Faye Statue, more info on the 51-card Oracle deck, and the reveal that the artbook is miniature in stature. Here's the full updated description from PlayStation: "Realized in intricate detail, the God of War Laufey Collector Box includes a light-up resin statue of Faye, capturing her lethal agility in action. Channel your own piece of Everywhen magic with the accompanying 51 card Oracle Deck. Stunning bespoke illustrations adorn each card with meaning inspired by Faye’s journey. Discover the incredible concept art that shaped the world of God of War Laufey with a Mini Artbook curated by the development team." And here are the new details from the blog, including breakdowns of what you're getting for the pricey tag of $149.99 USD/ €149.99/ £129.99: Light-Up Faye Statue – An eight-inch tall statue featuring Faye, Phranque, and Rue fighting against Begtse’s soldiers. Phranque will light up when the statue is plugged into a USB power source. 51-Card Oracle Deck – Featuring custom illustrations for each card by the talented Megan Lara, the Oracle Deck is a beautiful representation of your adventure through the Everywhen. Physical Mini Artbook – Concept art depicting the characters, creatures, and environments of God of War Laufey hand-selected by our talented art team at Santa Monica Studio. Fans are already noting how small the statue is compared to other Collector's Editions of similar games (including action-adventure titles from PlayStation), as well as the "miniature" nature of the artbook. Plus, this collection doesn't actually contain the game, which has been an issue ever since it was announced. God of War Laufey remains a big question mark, as the Norse God of War universe expands to other mythologies and Faye takes up the mantle of hero instead of Kratos. We know Kratos will appear in some capacity, but we aren't sure how big his role will be.
