That's exactly what ChitoseHaruhi has done, replacing Emma the Sealer with Akari from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and her stray dog companion Koo with the Pokémon Sword & Shield legendary fairy type Zacian. "This mod has NOT been in-game tested and was made based on modding experience," they warn. "If you encounter crashes or issues, please leave a comment on Bilibili or in the Nexus comments section." Beast of Reincarnation only launched two days ago, so it's a pretty solid start towards what I'm sure will be a much larger Pokémon overhaul from the community, getting to play through a soulslike as a trainer with their trusty pocket monster by their side. It fits surprisingly well, even if they look a bit out of place against the more photorealistic backgrounds. From what I can tell, this is the first and only Pokémon mod for Beast of Reincarnation so far. But there's plenty of potential for more. Just imagine bosses like Corvus being replaced with Corviknight, or Ursa with Ursaring. It practically writes itself. There's probably a way to slip Pikachu in there, too, and you could even swap the stimpacks for those iconic purple potions. Just imagine what Star Wars fans did with Starfield, but Pokémon. That is, so long as The Pokémon Company and Nintendo don't step in. Cosmetic tweaks usually fly under the radar, but a more ambitious overhaul might catch its eye. Maybe it's a good idea to start small - pop a Machamp or two in there first. Released August 4, 2026 Developer(s) Game Freak Publisher(s) Fictions Genre(s) Action, RPG, Soulslike, Adventure
