If so, that was a smart move, because several Ryobi tools are constantly on sale. If you want your dollar to go further while growing your toolbox, certain items are frequently discounted at Home Depot. Ryobi is one of the most popular cordless power tool brands on the market. They're affordable, easily accessible, and a go-to choice for millions of DIYers everywhere. Thankfully, Home Depot runs weekly discounts on Tuesdays, big "Ryobi Days" sales events, and has a few specific items that are perpetually on sale. Here's what to know before you head to the checkout counter. Don't buy standalone Ryobi battery packs Discounts or free tool bundles happen all the time If you're new to the world of neon-green Ryobi power tools, the best advice I can give you is to never buy a battery pack on its own, even if it's bundled as a 2-pack. Why? Because you can easily get a better deal a few weeks later. Power tool battery packs are pretty expensive, especially if you want a larger Ah version for big jobs. You can easily spend more money on batteries than on the tools themselves. Even if you find yourself needing a new battery or two, don't buy one standalone. For example, Ryobi's One+ 18V two-battery starter kit and charger is one of the most popular items at Home Depot, which retails for $228. This week, it's on sale for $95, and four weeks ago, it was also on sale for $97. More importantly, this same kit is consistently offered with a free item: you'll pay something like $149 for the two battery packs and a charger, but then get a free tool worth up to $200. In June, Ryobi had a similar 3-battery combo on sale for $199 or the option to get two battery packs and a power tool for $149. See my point, wait a few weeks, or until the next random holiday, and you'll surely save some money or get more for your buck. Ryobi 18V High-Torque Impact Wrench and battery An extremely capable tool, always discounted Credit: Cory Gunther / How-To Geek I'm a huge fan of my Ryobi brushless 4-mode 1/2-inch impact wrench, which is an essential tool for vehicle maintenance, driving large lag bolts, or taking lug nuts off a vehicle tire. It's very powerful, but never pay the full $270 sticker price. An impact wrench might look similar to a drill, but the way it works on the inside is vastly different. Instead of purely spinning, a notched hammer and bar-shaped anvil on the inside "impacts" as it turns, busting tight bolts free and delivering a ton of force. One of Ryobi's best impact wrenches retails for $270, but you'll constantly find it for $199, and occasionally even less. For example, it's currently on sale for $159 with a battery, and that's one heck of a deal. Ryobi ONE+ 4-mode High Torque Impact Wrench $159 $269 Save $110 Ryobi's 4-mode Impact Wrench is perfect for tough jobs. Choose the power level you need and get to work. Ryobi ONE+ 18V High-Pressure Tire Inflator An affordable tool that'll be on sale soon Credit: Ryobi Every homeowner needs a good high-pressure fire inflator for vehicles, bikes, camping, recreational toys, and soccer balls, which is why the Ryobi 18V model is wildly popular at $40. Earlier this week, though, it was on sale for only $19. If you already own a few Ryobi battery packs, that's a solid price for something you'll use all the time around the house. I didn't buy one because I paid $19 for it last year, and that's a price point you'll see off and on throughout the year. It's a solid little inflator with PSI presets, auto shut-off, and onboard accessory storage for different tips, basketball needles, and more. Keep an eye out, then buy one on sale. Ryobi 18V ONE+ High-Pressure Tire Inflator Tool Type Tire Inflator Warranty 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty With 160 PSI of pressure from any ONE+ 18V battery, this inflator is fast and capable. Plus, there's an auto-shutoff mode to prevent overinflation of car or bike tires. Never pay full price for combo kits Those 2-tool or even 5-tool combos are always discounted Credit: Ryobi Like every other major power tool brand, Ryobi offers combo kits that usually get you two tools, a battery, a charger, and maybe even a case. They're a good deal and more affordable than buying all of those items separately. However, like everything else mentioned above, those multi-tool combo kits go on sale all the time, especially during Memorial Day, Black Friday, in response to Amazon Prime Day, 4th of July, Ryobi Days sales events, or on a random Tuesday just for fun. A prime example and one of the best starter kits is the latest Ryobi 18V ONE+ (HP) Brushless 2-tool combo with a hammer drill, impact driver, two small battery packs, and a charger, all for $239. You'll see this drop to $179 constantly, which is an absolute steal, or it'll be bundled with a third, larger battery for $199, or a free accessory like an LED light or a fan. Don't pay the sticker price when you can get a bigger bundle, free add-ons, or a lower price. Ryobi 18V Hammer Drill and Driver Combo Get a good Brushless hammer drill and impact driver and be ready for any job around the house. Ryobi accessories, like a clamp fan or LED work lights Buy one get one free deals happen all the time Credit: Ryobi It's easy to walk around Home Depot and find a little Ryobi LED light or an affordable 4-inch clamp fan, throw it in your cart, and treat it as an impulse buy. And while that's fine, considering they're usually around $30, these are another type of Ryobi tool that are on sale more often than not. I love my Ryobi 4-inch Clamp fan, and I got it for free last year during a BOGO (buy one, get one) sale. I also have a Ryobi Bluetooth speaker, a larger hybrid fan, and a Brad Nailer. All three were a "free gift" after purchasing a Ryobi tool or battery pack at Home Depot. You can see how this works by reading this deal that went live during Memorial Day. Don't fall for the affordable price tag when you can usually score a better deal or a freebie bundle. Tools that are worth the wait Keep in mind that this is just a very short list of common Ryobi tools, battery packs, and accessories that are constantly on sale, but they're hardly the only ones. A big reason the brand is so popular, aside from having over 350 tools that run on the same battery, is the affordability and frequent deals. Ryobi even has a Direct Tools factory outlet store (both online and physical locations) full of discounted or blemished gear that'll save you even more money. I check the site all the time, looking for specific items. If you can practice a little patience, it'll be worth the wait, as you'll score some excellent tools without breaking the bank. Ryobi is already more affordable than Milwaukee or DeWALT, and these various deals are just icing on the cake.
