But the latest series licensed for streaming on Netflix, starring Park Eun-bin fresh off her appearance in The WONDERFools, has been making waves both domestically and on Netflix's streaming charts. Netflix's Latest Supernatural Horror Romance Dominates At Home & Grows Abroad With the central premise properly spelled out for viewers, and the series comfortably approaching its middle point with episodes 3 and 4 released over the weekend, Spooky in Love has secured a strong foothold in Korean viewership. Securing 4.350% of the average audience share per Nielsen Korea for episode 3, and a record-high 5.810% for episode 4, the latest Park Eun-bin vehicle has closed its second weekend at #1 nationwide on South Korea's intensely competitive broadcast TV scene. It's clear why, in delicately balancing the saturated ghost-seeing tropes in supernatural K-dramas with juicy intrigue, surprisingly chilling moments, and a captivating leading duo. Still, K-dramas are easily staying incredibly resilient through July 2026. Agent Kim Reactivated continues to reign supreme just as its final episode of possibly only its first season dropped this past weekend, and The East Palace, buoyed by audiences impressed by its stellar visuals, seems ready to claim the throne for a brief spell. But with eight more episodes, meaning four more release cycles on the way, with enough of a hook at the end of episode 4 to easily indicate viewership could increase further in the coming weeks, indicating an appropriate deathgrip on the primetime 9:10 PM KST slot on Saturdays and Sundays. Amid the fracas and attempted escape, Gang-uk is intentionally struck by a car driven by Ha-ri's vengeful fiance, Park Seung-jae, with Gang-uk rushed to the hospital. As he appears to flatline, a mortified Yeo-ri weeps outside, only to encounter what may be Gang-uk's ghost, implying he is, at the very least, at the edge of death in Spooky in Love. While it's entirely unlikely that the show killed Gang-uk and is setting up a human and ghost romance for the rest of the series, it was an inherently solid way to keep viewers guessing going into episode 5 and beyond. Gang-uk's empathy for Yeo-ri's unique predicament is too endearing to basically cut off at the knees on the same episode it truly flourishes. The resolution to this moment will be a big one for viewers, making Saturday, August 1, 2026, a day to mark down for Spooky in Love fans either tuning in at home in South Korea, or watching around the world as it appears poised to haunt the Netflix charts through the rest of July and much of August.
