After becoming a hit upon its 2022 series premiere and throughout the first four seasons, Netflix announced that the upcoming The Lincoln Lawyer season 5 will be the TV show's final outing. Now slated to release its last ten episodes in 2027, Netflix is wrapping up its adaptation of author Michael Connelly's eight-book (and counting) Mickey Haller series after just five seasons. Since Netflix hasn't clarified the reason behind its decision to end The Lincoln Lawyer, Connelly, as an executive producer on the series, has been asked about the potential to reverse the show's fate and return for more. In response to a plea on Threads to produce more seasons of The Lincoln Lawyer after season 5, Michael Connelly explained that continuing the show with season 6 and beyond isn't up to him, but rather would be a decision left to Netflix. Connelly's response suggests that The Lincoln Lawyer's season 5 conclusion wasn't planned by the producers or showrunners, instead hinting at a cancellation by Netflix. While Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for the final entry, Michael Connelly recently confirmed that The Lincoln Lawyer season 5 will be released in 2027. Since filming wrapped in July 2026, early 2027 is the most likely premiere window for the final season based on previous outings' production conclusion to release timelines. After the decision to end the main series was announced this May, it was soon reported in August that Netflix is developing its first-ever The Lincoln Lawyer spinoff series. With a script written by The Lincoln Lawyer co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez, as well as executive producer Matthew J. Lieberman, the offshoot will reportedly focus on Cobie Smulders' new character Emi Finch, who was revealed to be Mickey Haller's half-sister that he never knew existed in the season 4 finale. The confirmed returning main cast members for The Lincoln Lawyer season 5 include Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as the eponymous attorney Mickey Haller, Becki Newton as Lorna Crane, Jazz Raycole as Izzy Letts, Angus Sampson as Cisco, and Cobie Smulders as Emi Finch. Officially back for the final episodes as recurring guest stars are Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado. Netflix has also announced fourteen new recurring guest stars joining the series, with Steve Howey, Corbin Bernsen, and Diane Guerrero being among the newcomers. Though whether The Lincoln Lawyer season 6 could eventually be in the cards is up to Netflix rather than the author, Michael Connelly still has a few other highly anticipated TV adaptations of his books in the works. Connelly serves as an executive producer on MGM+'s upcoming series Bosch: Start of Watch, a 1991-set origin story for his iconic detective character Harry Bosch. Meanwhile, his Bosch spinoff show Ballard is awaiting its season 2 release date on Prime Video after wrapping filming this summer. Release Date 2022 - 2027-00-00 Network Netflix Directors David E.
