Netflix has myriad series of every genre, but they are truly a crime drama lover's paradise, with critically acclaimed series like Mindhunter and Ozark, British shows like The Gentlemen and The Bodyguard, and multiple Harlan Coben adaptations. The latest Coben novel to get the Netflix treatment is I Will Find You. Premiering on June 18, 2026, I Will Find You centers on David Borroughs, an innocent man wrongfully convicted of murdering his son, Matthew. Five years into his prison sentence, David learns that Matthew may still be alive, and he breaks out of prison to find out the truth once and for all. I Will Find You has proven a smash-success for Netflix, as the series is the streamer's third-most-watched series of 2026, behind only the thriller His & Hers and the period romantic drama Bridgerton​​​​​. Not only that, but I Will Find You currently ranks as Netflix's eighth most popular show of all time globally. You'd think a show that widely watched would have a near-perfect audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making the actual score all the more surprising. Why I Will Find You's Audience Score On Rotten Tomatoes Is So Low The Rotten Tomatoes critics' score for I Will Find You currently sits at a middling 64%. This isn't a huge shocker, as mass-appeal, crowd-pleasing shows often don't become critical darlings. However, the real puzzle is I Will Find You's even lower audience score — a rotten 59%. Viewers who weighed in dinged I Will Find You for overly formulaic storytelling, too many tired tropes, and bizarre character decisions that seemed to prioritize the plot over sound logic. However, if you want a solid piece of genre-standard entertainment, you could do a lot worse. The main characters in I Will Find You aren't Breaking Bad-level fascinating, but the cast is talented, and they share great chemistry. Sam Worthington is a relatable everyman anchor as grieving, determined father David; Severance's Britt Lower proves why she's an Emmy-winning actress in the role of David's sister-in-law, Rachel; and as Rachel's ex, Hayden, Milo Ventimiglia shows his versatility in a genre the Gilmore Girls and This Is Us star doesn't often play in. Familiar faces like Jonathan Tucker, Peter Outerbridge, and Madeleine Stowe also deliver reliably strong performances. Furthermore, keep in mind that I Will Find You is a miniseries. At just eight episodes long, it tells a taut, complete story with no bloat, and it won't suffer the fate of Netflix shows that end their latest season on a cliffhanger only to be canceled. Ultimately, I Will Find You is a ringing endorsement for prestige mid TV.
