Netflix has appointed IMG to produce the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027. The tournament, which takes place in Brazil from June 24-July 25, is streaming exclusively on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada, with IMG producing coverage of all 64 games and more than 100 hours of studio programming featuring “top-tier talent.” Coverage will be made available in English and Spanish in the U.S. and in English and French in Canada. “The FIFA Women’s World Cup is one of the fastest-growing events in global sport, showcasing the best football and captivating new audiences worldwide,” said Adam Kelly, IMG’s President. The streamer also has rights to the 2031 tournament, as it pushes further into live sports content. Watch on Deadline IMG, meanwhile, produces the likes of Major League Soccer, the English Football League, the WTA Tour, Saudi Pro League, CBS’ UEFA Champions League and Europa League coverage, UFC, DP World Tour, the Ryder Cup, the Solheim Cup and The Open Championship. “As Netflix makes its live football debut, we’re excited to help bring this tournament – and its extraordinary athletes – to new and existing fans in the U.S and Canada.
