Netflix announce new Brit dating show to rival Love Island and MAFS – and YOU decide who gets married

NEW interactive dating show Netflix, Will You Marry Me? is on the way – with a big twist. The streaming giant’s live reality show will let viewers decide which lucky lady weds ‘Britain’s most eligible bachelor’. Dubbed a cross between Big Brother and Married At First Sight, the show will air across 12 live episodes over a month. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! The groom will live in a custom-built house with a group of potential brides looking to find their husband and say ‘I do’. Set in the UK, cameras will be rife in the custom-built mansion’s walls while the audience pulls the strings. As the viewers watch on, they will have the power to vote on who stays, who goes – and who he eventually marries in a live finale where the bachelor proposes to his final choice. The official synopsis reads: “Across four weeks and 12 LIVE episodes one man will hand over TOTAL control to the Netflix viewers to find his true love and ask the audience, “Netflix, Will You Marry Me?” It hopes to go up against Married At First Sight Credit: Channel 4 The show will let the audience choose who the groom gets to marry Credit: Getty “EVERY big decision and EVERY dramatic exit will be voted for by Netflix members. “Get ready for a whirlwind of dates, drama and fairytale romance all leading to one genuine, LIVE televised proposal – the question is who do YOU choose? Most read in Showbiz “It’s his life and your choice.” Filming is due to start next year and will span 12 live episodes over four weeks. Rick Murray, CEO of Workerbee, explained: “We are delighted to be working with the creative force that is Syeda Irtizaali on her first commission at Netflix. “The scale of this one is off the charts… “Can’t wait to reveal more about the format in the coming weeks and months. This marks the first major project ordered by Syeda Irtizaali since taking over as Netflix UK’s head of reality TV. She joined the company last year from the BBC, where she helped create the hit show The Traitors. Netflix added: “Marriage is a big decision. Why not add a few million more opinions? “The thrill of swiping on friends’ dating apps just got amplified.” Everything will culminate “in the leading man making a live, televised proposal to (hopefully) the love of his life”.
