Nest app is down, but Google's status page says everything is fine

Downdetector shows that there are currently nearly 1,000 people reporting issues. The problem began with a single report at 3:41 am ET and just before 11 am ET has hit over 800. In response to an inquiry of “Is nest app down for anyone in Texas?,” affirmative responses poured in not just from Texas, but also from Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and other states. The outage seems to extend beyond US borders, with complaints from those living in Canada and the UK as well. Google Home alternative Some people are having success using the Google Home app instead, though a few others are not. There are grumblings even from those who have resorted to using Google Home. “I think they're trying to force us to use that crappy google home,” says one. While another gives a bit more detail about what they hate about it: “Tried using Google Home instead and wow is that app complete garbage. Not all functions are available for me there.
