The pilgrims were from various parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Puducherry, Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthirai and Tiruchi.“Along with them, two others from Maharashtra too joined them. The incident happened around 8 a.m. today. Occupants of one of the vehicles took refuge on top of a hill,” a source coordinating rescue efforts said, adding that it is not immediately known as to what happened to the occupants of the other two vehicles.
