Nelson community 'shocked' by shooting

A Nelson MP says the community is shocked after two people died in a shooting in the suburb of Tahunanui yesterday afternoon.A man and a woman were found dead at a house on Parkers Road after a report of a shotgun being stolen in nearby Annesbrook.Rachel Boyack is the MP for Nelson.Max Frethey / LDRNelson MP Rachel Boyack says the seaside suburb is not used to such incidents - and people are concerned about their friends, family and the wider community."I've been briefed by our [Police] Area Commander and there is no risk to the public, but this is an extremely sad day for our community," Boyack wrote on Facebook."Our love and thoughts go to the family and friends of those involved.""My thanks to our first responders who do a remarkable job protecting and supporting people during tragic incidents like this one."
