They have proven to be popular, as museum educators delivered 503 virtual workshops during the 2025-26 school year, reaching over 10,000 students from all provinces and territories.“Each of the workshops uses real specimens, videos, multimedia and guided activities by one of our science educators to provide an enriching experience on the theme being presented,” says Melanie Hall, the museum’s Vice-President of Experience and Engagement. Please try againThe new Freshwater Systems Workshop, developed in partnership with AquaAction, will engage students to reflect about why fresh water matters, how pollution affects water quality and ecosystems, and how individuals, including themselves, can help protect this vital resource.This new workshop expands the museum’s roster of virtual workshop themes, which include rocks and minerals, coastal sea life, and Arctic ecosystems.
