The governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko said: “Damage has been recorded in the Ust-Luga port area, and a fire has broken out. “Emergency services are working at the scene.” The Ukrainian capital has been under near constant attack for six days, with attacks on food warehouses. The mindless strikes have led to empty shelves in supermarkets as supplies run short. The ramped up Russian attacks have been seen as a response to Kyiv’s stunning campaign of blitzes on key infrastructure such as oil hubs and logistics warehouses. Putin has been left reeling following a series of precision strikes – which have sparked chaos by causing fuel shortages and blackouts. Meanwhile, the UK has been accused of participating in the war by handing over plans for Storm Shadow missiles. The long-range weapon blueprints were handed over to Kyiv last week by Andy Burnham when he travelled to Ukraine to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky. Moscow has accused Europe of “playing with fire” as Britain, Germany and France continue to show their unconditional support for Kyiv.
