National Ranking Tennis set to begin

As many as 400 entries have been confirmed for the event Zulfiqar Baig August 28, 2026 Less than a minute read Photo: PTF ISLAMABAD: The 1st Meinhardt Grade A+ National Ranking Tennis Championship will begin on Saturday (today) at the PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad. The country’s leading players will feature in the event. Some of the top seeds are: Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza, Muhammad Shoaib, Barkatullah, Mudassir Murtaza, Hamza Roman, Abubakar Talha, Ahmad Nael Qureshi, Ushna Suhail, Mahin Aftab Qureshi, Esha Jawad, Labika Durab, Hajra Suhail, Romaisa Malik, Bismal, Shayan Afridi, Zohaib Afzal Malik, Amir Mazari and Hassan Usmani will compete in the championship. The event has received an overwhelming response, with more than 400 entries across 11 different categories, including men’s singles, men’s doubles, ladies’ singles, ladies’ doubles, boys’ 18 and under, singles boys under-14, singles girls under-14, singles boys 12 and under, singles girls 12 and under, singles seniors 40+ and doubles seniors 50+. A cash award of Rs2 million will be distributed among the participating players. Pakistan Tennis Federation’s (PTF) president Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Secretary General Col Zia Uddin Tufail extended their best wishes to all the participating players and expressed hope that the championships would provide a highly competitive platform for players across the country.
